At a glance
WP2 is dedicated to advancing the European Cancer Patient Digital Centre (ECPDC) by identifying essential cancer-related information sources and fostering multi-level collaboration.

WP2 is led by INOMED and contributed to by DKFZ, AIT, IACS, VHIO, HUPON, DoHIE, INC, OUS, SPLS, YCE, cRCCS, OIL, CPAS, LSDA, MESC. BIH/CHA, BBMRI-ERIC, DiCE, SIG, BSC.
The task
The work of WP2 begins with a comprehensive mapping of international, European and national databases, clinical trials, scientific publications, and healthcare guidelines concerning cancer types with poor survival rates, high incidence, paediatric cancers, treatment modalities, and long-term post-treatment care. Special emphasis is placed on resources available in local languages to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
Beyond data collection, WP2 engages with ongoing projects and policy initiatives—such as UNCAN, ECHoS, and the European Beating Cancer Plan—and activates stakeholder collaboration through the “pentahelix” model, incorporating government, academia, industry, civil society, and media. By initiating structured dialogue and biannual coordination meetings with project leads and experts, it aims to cultivate strategic partnerships and synchronise national actions with European cancer prevention and care objectives.
The resulting outputs include curated resource lists, a detailed stakeholder and initiative map, and reports capturing collaborative progress.
Together, these contributions will lay the groundwork for more integrated, responsive, and patient-centered digital solutions within Europe’s cancer ecosystem.
